I upgraded from a 3 yr old Timberlands boat shoes (still looking good but the sole has worn out) and felt the Sperry's leather to be inferior, especially for the price. I don't like returning stuff after I've worn it so I kept the Sperry's.Next up was Sebago. I got the "Blue Nite" and it's a gorgeous color (the blue is very dark and the white laces accents it very well). Though the Sebago has firmer leather (and thicker) so it did take me 2 days (wearing with socks) to break it in. During the break-in period, the shoes are a little uncomfortable (due to firmer leather) but once they break in, the shoes are very comfortable and mold to the feet very well. The Sebago run true to size (I have 9.5 feet and ordered the same size shoes). Though the cushioning on the Sebago (and same as of Sperry) is barely enough (my old Timberlands had better... I ordered the brown - they look good with casual slacks or without socks when wearing shorts. I had read other Sebagos reviews (not the Docksides) that said that sometimes they were a little small and suggested that a half size bigger would be good. Well, I ordered a half size up and they fit aboout a half size big. However, they wear excellent with socks and do not rub my feet when I don't have socks on. Wear these everywhere. Very comforable. My sperrys are nice as well, but I think these are "thicker" leather. You will not go wrong, here.
